wunderbar!
A terrific friend of mine has been living in Nepal on a work assignment for the last 6 weeks. She's brilliant and has one of the funnest jobs ever, well, I think it's cool. Her birthday was last week (hooray), and she treated herself to a sunrise flight around Mt. Everest to celebrate. How amazing is that! Yeah, I live vicariously through her and the never-ending adventures.
Happy Birthday Friedi!

santa
Remember I mentioned our planned visit to Santaland at Macy's. Finally, here is a pic. Our Santa was very nice and gentle with Jack. Jack managed to say what he wanted, but would not smile for anything. This is the best shot.
The best part of the experience was the line leading up to the North Pole. I didn't get any good shots, but it was decorated perfectly for the crew. If you ask me, there was too much emphasis on Macy's getting a shot to sell us and not enough attention on Jack have a little convo with Santa. C'mon people!
Despite our conversations in advance on why we were going to see Santa, Jack seem nonplussed and all to glad to skedaddle.
We meandered out of Santaland and spotted the food court and pick up a gingerbread cookie. The highlight of the morning by far.
heard
Jack told Mr. R this morning,
"My tummy hurts.
I got a fever in my tummy.
But I don't got to get it out.
The medicine will get it out."
Brilliant.

two more
After the camera battery died or froze, I came in and snapped one of the tree. It looks better at night.
And then I took the laptop into bed and watched out the window. Had to take a pic.
A few random questions
- Does this ever happen to you - you go to grab a quick drink out of the fridge and choose a sippy cup over a glass? Yeah? Me too.
- Does your husband ever announce he needs his own room when you bring the laptop to bed? Don't answer that one.
first big snow storm right now
Our first big snow storm hit today and hasn't left yet. The first snow came on my birthday - just to love me up, of course, but today is something much more serious and beautiful. Perfect timing! Mr. R doesn't have to work in the morning and I already loaded up the fridge, so bring it on.
After the crew was settled in for the night, I snuck out to take some pics. You know before it gets all yucky and to show how calm and quiet this city gets.

It looks like this:
Look a taxi!
